Holsby Reunion

Dear Readers,
wow. i don't know how God does it, but He is soooo good! Every time i visit BC, He organizes so many other wonderful, encouraging, and lovely people to be there as well. This time He brought: Annie (Oregon), Lisa (North Dakota), Malcolm (Abbotsford), Earl (ladner), Rachel and Abel (Washington), Tammi (Kelowna) and Erika (Calgary; and now TWU). How incredible!! We had such a refreshing time of catching up on each other's troubles, joys and new developments. Thanks to my parents, we were able to use the beautiful backyard, have a BBQ, AND eat all their food. (wink wink) haha. it was beautiful. ( Annie has just started some nice dreads! very cool )
Ooooooooh. I miss my Dave a lot. It's just so weird to be here without him. I wish he could enjoy all the people and the beauty of BC! Going to bed alone just feels so strange, i miss talking to dave while we wait to fall asleep, and then hearing him breathe deeply when he does. aaaaawwwww.
Well, i should go. today we are preparing for a trip to Stanley Park in Vancouver, and the girls will really love it !! I feel bad because i haven't been able to give Julia a really lgood day of sleep YET. With the time change, today has been the first day she has slept past 6 am, and it has been difficult to give her all the rest she needs with that 2 hours of loss right there. I know kids are resilliant, but that doesn't last FOREVER, she will get grumpy, tired and upset soon enough if this continues. Plus, i feel badly, i like to give her stability, rest and brain growing time. I LOVE giving her 3.5 hours of sleep every day and 12 and a bit every night......soon she will have that again, then her body will feel better, more secure and adjusted.
anyway. enough of my ranting.....love to all.

Dear Folks,

a long, warm, cozy, wonderful, foodishous day has just passed us. Filled with old friends, new clothes, fresh ice tea and decorating. From the park, to the thrift store, to Beans and Leaves (coffee stop while we shop), to the backyard (to decorate for Sonya's wedding shower), to the computer, and soon (please please) to bed--today has been splendid.

Here are the pics. how sweet cousins are!!!

From a sunny valley in BC

Dearest friends and family,

YEsterday Julia and I flew from Toronto to Abbotsford, and it only took 11 hours!! (ouch) A small hitch in Calgary left us waiting for another flight, thus the long day. But all is well, Julia was graceous to me and played, giggled, and talked to our neighboring travelers. Now we are basking in the sunlight of a glorious day, soon to be walking to the park with Aunti Sarah and cousin Lesina. :)

last night our welcoming party included: Aunt Carla, Uncle Ron, Carly, Kristin, Holly, Sarah, Nu, LEsina, MOm and Dad. We sat around and enjoyed eachother's company, whilest the two wee girls soaked themselves with water and played on rocking horses. I suppose one could say, they were 'horsing around'.....snicker snicker....yes, i am hanging out with my dad again, can you tell??? haha.

Good Dry Humor.

Well, i will try to upload some pictures now. Although, this computer is slow, so you may not see them until i arrive home next week. heehee.

love from sue. dave i MISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YOU!!!!!!!! (did you find all the notes yet? there were 4 of them)

bye. the end for now.

Fly High, Fly low

Tomorrow we leave for Abbotsford! Hopefully i will continue posting while we are there at my parents' home, for all my 'die-hard' fans. (all three of you, that don't live at my parents' home, haha)
Pray for safe and happy travels. To see my crazy family.........some of whom are featured below:
much love. the end.

I'm a big girl now

Hey folks,

over the last few days Julia has accomplished eating cereal on her own. (sort of - haha) Although she usually ends up looking like Jolly Ol' St. Nick, it is nice to have her more independant during her morning meal. I figure that, since she is entering the 'me do' stage, this is a good skill to teach her, thus preventing frustration on her part and mine.

The End.

The Cooooooooolness

Anti-Weekend (tales of a weekend with Auntie)

Hejsan friends,

a lazy friday breeze brought in lovely Aunt Karla, and today the sun shines as we enjoy delicious company. Our day began with a jolly-good trip to the Brampton Farmer's market. (but we don't like them because they won't let Dave sell our popcorn there....haha) After wandering the street, filling our bag with cherries, plums, and homemade perogies (much prettier ones then those that i attempted to make!!) , we dragged ourselves home for nap time. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Dazzling sun in the afternoon drove us to the pool for refreshment. Lovely. There we danced in the waves, drank in the clorine, and sank into the coolness...........aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.........

Aunt Karli taught Julia a new game of rolling golf balls down an inclined plane (tilted chalk board) and she LOVED it!! what fun! It truly baffled Julia that the little balls would move without her touching them. heheee. Yes, she has entered the 'scientist' phase. What fun.

Now the angel is sleeping, and we are hurriedly preparing good foods for the morrow. Great old friends are joining us for a communion meal of Burrito Bake and Corn. Blessings.

the end.

Just another day in our lives........

Today began with rain, tents, teddy bears, and apricot-porridge. Now, as baby sleeps, and i relax to another great John Grisham audio-book (The Testament -- recommended by Aunt Carla Kamps -- thanks, it is awesome!!), i shall attempt to update the world on yet another day of our life............ooooooooo how thrilling!

I experimented with a small, tunnel-like tent for Julia's first fort. With Teddy bears filling the inside of it, we had a lot of fun! Vinny, our landlord, gave us one of his garden fresh cucumbers (as seen in Julia's hands on the left there...) and Julia devoured half of it for snack. Yumyum!

Italian Apricots

Just the other day, as we walked down our street, a lovely old gent with a thick Italian accent asked us to stop and admire his fruit trees. Then, with a bag in hand, he forced us to take some of his ripening fruits off his hands. So we now have an apricot orchard to pick from! How delightful! The fruit was still quite hard, but they should ripen quickly laid out on my tea towels. Yumyum. It sure pays to be friendly to your neighbors!

Life is sooooooooooo fun!!

Our bed is a favorite play spot for Julia. She loves to fall back against the pillows and billowing comforter and giggle. I believe she is destined to be a thrill-ride lover! haha.
When Julia wakes from her naps, i usually bring her into our room and we cuddle on the pillow-clouds while watching the 'picture show'. (our screen saver: random pictures from our family albums. ) Here she is surrounded by her dearest friends, as i turned this cuddle time into a teddy bear party.
"oooooooh look at meeee, i'm jumping on mama's bed!!"
Reading with daddy is always a treat!

Anniversary Day!

Hullo all,

today is our anniversary! Dave and I have been married for 2 (wonderful, fabulous, exciting, thrilling) years now. We have definately learned more about ourselves and each other. It is a great life to be a part of. I highly recommend it to anyone. :)

We never REALLY celebrate things in 'regular' ways, so we don't have cards or a movie and dinner date planned for today......as far as i know. :) But we did go to Canada's Wonder(ful)land on the weekend, and BOYOHBOY was that fun! i love being sc-c-c-ared! There is just nothing like it. And i do believe that we are planning a get-a-way for the fall to a lovely place called Stratford, where we have free accomodations and gift money that will get us into one of many beautifully done plays. :)

So...i'm going to see if i can rummage up any old pics from the wedding to put on the site...until then, this will have to do!

love you all! Thank you for being a part of our lives, you make it richer by just being there.

Laundry training

Dear Folks,

there hasn't been a lot of excitement the last few days, especially since Opa and Oma are gone now. But i thought that today's regular activity of folding laundry was thrilling enough to capture on blog. While folding clothes i generally toss all socks, face cloths, and other easily folded items in Julia's direction (knowing that if i do not, she will find the things i don't want her to unfold and mess up) . She then procedes to carry, fold, play, toss, and wear whatever it is i send to her. Quite helpful to me, although she doesn't know it. :) We have a lot of fun doing laundry this way, and it allows me to dream of the day when she REALLY knows how to fold the towels, shorts, and t-shirts; and maybe she will even do it as excitedly as she does now.....you never know....

puddle jumping, outback steakhouse

Julia enjoyed sitting between Oma and Opa during our
lovely little meal together here at the 'Outback'.
The endless rain has made for some fun
PuddleJumpin' !

Opa Arrives....

It has been a long day of rain and thunder, and we enjoyed every minute of it! Opa, Ba-pa as Julia called him while looking at his picture, arrived and now it is family time for the evening. And the thunder still rolls in the distance. On and on it goes....talk to y'all later.

the end. for now.

Teddy In A Basket

Ah, teddy bear, teddy bear.......how i love thee, oh let me count the ways!
I love thee more than swingsets, strollers, and maybe even bikes....
I love thee more than doggies, kitties, and some lil'tikes....
I love thee more than noodles, yogurt, or jello.....
I love thee more than my favorite long fruit that is yellow!

Hide and Seek

Julia now loves to walk about the house with towels, blankets, clothing....anything that obstructs her vision...and then she will 'peek a boo' every couple of minutes. Amazingly enough, she has yet to walk into any doors, tables, or other random objects that lie about our home!! At first we thought she could see through the material....but then i tried her trick and couldn't see a thing! So, we have found her super-power now. Ah, yes. The X-family. SuperDave, SuperSue, and SuperBabyJ...........

Apple Pickin' Good!

Well dear friends, we have had another lovely day. Today's adventure was 'picking apples' from the kitchen, and then transferring them all over the house. (favorite place to put them: definately her mouth!)

Pretend Play

Dear Folks,

Julia began exploring with 'pretend play' today! She has done a few things before: like feeding her dolls, putting Teddy on her car and driving him around, or putting all the bears on the rocking chair and then rocking them. But today she had her first 'tea party', with my help.

I made a table for her, and placed her bears around it. A lovely checkered cloth, to make things feel homey, and Julia's own plastic dishes adorned the 'table'. Then, once my part was done, Julia proceded with the dinner party. She made her rounds, ensuring that every guest had their fill of the mysterious clumps of food on her empty fork and spoon. (I'm not sure how safe the 'food' was though, after each serving her 'guests' promptly fell over and remained immoveable, one even passed out on the 'table'!)

Well, i hope this doesn't keep any of you from stopping by for supper. As far as i know, this episode has never happened when people eat my lovingly prepared food......

That is all for now. The End.

Pool Party!

Well, last night we made a splash. Our friend Pam, from church, invited us out for a BBQ and swim at her place. It was awesome! Julia loved it, and we were pretty content too! ha, it poured for a while, but swimming in the rain is fun. (Don't worry folks, no lightening! ) Here are the pictures:

Sunday, Sweet Sunday

Hey Folks,

Today we went on a lovely, spontanious trip to a conservation area with friends. Here are the pics:

#1) Julia picking up sticks. (for what, i'm not sure, but perhaps she thought a campfire and some marshmellows would be a good end to the hike.....)

#2) watermelon frenzy
