reuse, recycle, reduce...
in recent discussions with other lovely peoples, we have been talking of the ongoing battle in our lives to reuse, recycle and reduce.
Here is a recent Recycle and Reuse idea from the house of Nauslings.
Some of you may know TreeBeard, or some may know of Tea Tree Oil, but none have yet met our TreePants. Yes, i am constructing tree-ish curtains for Julia's room out of Daddy's old pants (if he is okay with that...i haven't run that past him...hmm...maybe this is premature...) .
heehee.
Happy Recycling! HEY......POST YOUR LATEST ODD RECYCLING VENTURE! I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT! :) LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE HERE..........

Well done Sue. I am sure that Julia will enjoy it very much!!
hey...heyhey...guys, did you allread the LARGE PRINT??
leave your fab designs and recycle projects or ideas at least! :)
please??? :) i'd love to hear what YOU GUYS DID!
we used our old sheets to tyedye and make our walls for the basement bathroom, Taylor's old rubber boots made great planters, broken clay pots go well in the garden so I am told.... I can't think of any more recycling ideas..
Good luck!!
I used old jeans to make a patchwork picnic blanket and a purse once...boring...hey Sue, remember Jamie would cut up her dad's favourite flannelette shirt to make add on's? Her jeans were never long enough so she'd cut off the bottom, add a piece, and sew them on...I heard once she was known as the "add on" girl in school. Thought that might inspire anyone here who is still growing. :)
HEY CAM,
great story! haha.
that "stick" means we are having a baby in Feb!! heehee.
have a great summer, dave misses you!
Robyn, THANKS for the great ideas and inspiration! i love the ideas!!
:)
Carla, the blanket and purse sound fun....i think the blanket would be AweSOME!
Those curtains will be awesome. I was looking at our house the other day thinking about how the colors resemble nature, and trees alot! We love tree, dave and I, and want to paint them in COrrina's room.
Well, being a brownie leader, at least i was before, i came to see uses for EVERYthing. The lids of juice concentrate containers make great glue dishes. Toilet paper rolls are a must have, and of course tins cans are super for decorating and for organizing trinkets. (at this present moment corrina is eating her dress and talking about something, i think she is trying to tell me how she reuses things... can't tell which things though, i am still not fluent in baby speak. very cute though!)
We used to save every single cereal box to use as cardboard for our book making adventures, or board game making in dave's world. We had to stop that and start recycling them again though because we had too many around.
Canning jars left over from jams and such (for those of you who don't them make more jam in them) make great glasses! In high school i went to the recycling depo and brought a backpack full of jars home, and then painted them all and put them in the cupboards. My mom prompty removed them and didn't find the same joy in drinking out of other peoples jars. Tee hee, i still do it though!
I will stop comment now though cause this is more like a blog now!
Take care,
Happy reusing to all!
Janie
thanks Janers!
i knew that you would have awesome ideas for us all, i love your creativity!!!!
corrie, corrie, how sweet. she is the best recycler of all! Cloth diapers, and nursing are awesome examples of her early years of being introduced to "reuse and reduce"!!
