Ron says playing with cars and trucks, and when he got his road race set he played with that for years. As for me, I liked to pretend and imagine stuff...like in grade one we'd make "brooms " with branches and sweep the dirt under the big fir trees at school, and that was our house...funny what you remember, eh? Skipping rope games, riding bike, swimming. Making snow men in the dark. Oh, so many kid things. Funny thing is, I don't do any of those any more. But thanks for the good memories.

Oh ya, I still sweep my house. So it looks like we both did turn into what we imagined. Ha! Wow...how fascinating, eh?

Coloring coloring coloring! I don't do it as much, but that is pretty much all i did while growing up... oh, and my sand kitchen, which i can remember having in the back yard since i was about 3. It was planks of wood set up on bricks as 'counters', lots of thrift store dishes, pots and containers, and unlimited (in a 3 year old's mind) supply of wooden and other mixing spoons, and of course SAND (which i had the responsibility of putting the lid on at night so the kitties didn't pee in it. I could not have that happening in my precious cooking sand. eeewww. I had lots of rocks too: white ones, lava ones, pebbles, and others i can't even name!) I think that this is where my love for cooking and making wierd things comes from, and also perhaps the reason i can't really watch tv or movies without doing something ( my coloring table, and many baskets of felts and crayons and pile of paper were in the living room, and i didn't really watch tv, so much as draw with tv in the background.) Those are my things. I also played alot of barbies with some very weird situations and drama... alot of barbies! Maybe this is why i am so bossy!

I just motored through your last posts... great article!
My only housekeeping suggestion is to make sure EVERYTHING has a home, a place to live, a place to be put away. That will make things super quick for you when cleaning up because you don't have to figure out which pile to put this or that in. It will also make it easier for Julia to help out. But i don't need to tell you how to get Julia to help out, you are the master at that!
I think that in my head i reward myself for cleaning. "Ohkay, if you put the laundry away first, then you can sit and crochet and won't have to stumble up on it later. It will be done and out of the way" I rationalize everything as well!
Anyway, take it easy, and just be you.

I have to agree with Janie, colouring, and crafts. Something I have been getting back into. I know that sounds strange, but I find it so much easier to escape to the basement to my "craft table" and just do the few things down there. It is so relaxing to me. I also enjoy doing crafts with Taylor again. I found it hard for a while, but I think now that he is willing to have some pactience with me, and listens better, we craft better!
