EightDays to BirthDay!!

Seems like yesterday. What a glorious gift from God. Here we are snuggling in the cozy-not-so-homey hospital bed. But God is good, He truly helps the memory forget the not-so-lovely parts. In my mind, i enjoyed labor. Memory tells me it was short, fast and not as bad as all the hype. Perhaps i'll think differently in the midst of another labor...ha. you never know. I"m praying for a 'christa' to happen to me. My friend has three gorgeous children....all of whom came faster than the first. I suppose that is typical. but i'm looking forward to the next labor's all being quicker than the one i've already endured. (about 6 hours beginning to end.)

Anyone have any good birthing stories to tell??? Any exciting, scarey, funny things to let us all know about???? I usually find at least ONE person in a crowd has something strange to tell about a doctor or nurse or something......let us in on this one! Do you remember certain details as though it were yesterday that you were there????
ah, and here she is now, Princess Julia.

I'd love to hear from all of you our there in cyberspace about your experiences with kids this age. (2) what do you believe their spiritual capabilities are? With every child sooo different, i know this is a tough question. Every child thinks so differently. but let me see a glimpse into the great expanse of brain that a 2 year old can have. Please tell me stories, or book quotes or personal opinion about what a 2 year old can understand about our GOd and Father.

Sue, It already feels like forever ago that Corrina was born, and it was only less than three months. Wow! I don't know if you can wish for less than 6 hours beginning to end... that is already short in my books! I hope that for your next labour (even if it is longer), that you can move around and try all sorts of new tricks to ease the intensity and sensations. I basicaly resisted being in the bed and had them monitor the heart while i was on the birth ball, or in the shower, or where-ever. Like you i have also come to believe that labour isn't that bad, and my mind has gotten rid of the pain. Amazing! I don't think i had ever seen one of your "after birth" pictures before. Was your hair reddish?
Your question about what 2 year olds can know spiritualy is interesting. I have some information on the "stages of faith" through developement that i will find, and when i do i will let you know what i discover. We talked about it alot in our "sociology of religion" class, and in our child developement course, so there is alot floating around somewhere! Hope you get some interesting replies. Have a super day. Oh yeah, i am really enjoying all the pictures you have been posting as of late. I love looking that things from the past (and the future too. Got any photos from the future?)Te he, adios nausling nesters

Wow, princess jujube is almost two...how lovely! Don't listen to those naysayers out there, 2 is actually a fairly wonderful age, despite some trying times.
As for spiritual capabilities, probably more than we think I think! I like those verses in Dt. that talk about talking about God and his ways when you go out and when you come in, in every possible circumstance teaching your children these things. Even though they may not express a lot I think they soak it up and it gives them a great foundation!
We're especially focusing on obeying right now-how when we obey our parents we're obeying God, and we need to learn how to do that, even Mom and Dad need to obey God...
As far as labor, I'll wait a few more months before saying anything on that matter.
Love you guys

haha, thanks everybody. :) i totally believe that kids understand a lot about God....Jesus spoke about children and wanted them to come to Him, it makes you consider His connection to the little ones....does He comfort them at night in sweet dreams? does He give them special messages that only their childlike minds and hearts can understand and see??? oh to have the softness of heart that a child does alongside the discernment of maturity that God grants those that seek Him as they grow...
