Summer is so full of enchantment, delight and contentment! Today Julia played in her sprinkler until Aunti K came to take her on a date to the beach!!! What excitement! THat gave Dave and I time to do some MUCH needed cleaning in our basement. YUCK. The work bench area has been collecting boxes of tools, supplies, and odds and ends for months now. To add to the disaster, our crazy rain last night added four streams to our constant washer run off. Anyway, it looks wonderful to my sore eyes now that we have slaved for a bit.
Organization feels so satisfying!
The garden continues to bloom and grow, with gusto! I think the flowers were angered by my neighbor telling me he thought most of the plants, "sorry to say", were weeds. I calmly set him straight by telling him, that no, actually I HAD planted REAL things there, and this wasn't a ragtag over growth of whoever lived here previously! hahahaha. Gently, of course, so as to not SHOVE his foot into his mouth. But it definately was on it's way in without any help from me!
ha.
So funny what we say without thinking. (i do that so so often!)

Julia looks like she is having such fun in the water. I can't wait until Taylor get's home and we can do things together again.
Your garden looks wonderful, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Good for standing up for yourself. I found out that so many things in our yard are "weeds", but what may be a "weed" to one person, is a wonderful flower! I have been told that the strawberries are weeds, as they are wild ones, yes I agree that they are wild, but to me, they are not a weed!!
Keep up the great work. I so know the feeling of the boxes everywhere in the basement. We have still got them all over the house, not just the basement.
Hugs!
hugs to you too Robyn!
yeah, i thought it was funny to hear him say they were weeds, haha. i laughed. there weren't any flowers on them yet, so i suppose to anyone looking it was just a bunch of greenery.
i think i'm an "english" style gardener, i like the look of english gardens with the tall flowers and short flowers and mixed colors all together. i enjoy that.
That is awesome to have STRAWBERRIES! how many???
Sue, i was just going to comment and say that you have an 'english cottage' style garden, but you already know. Those are my favorites too. In the area we used to live in there was a whole neighborhood with tall, bushy, beautiful gardens. I don't like perfect little rows of one flower... i bet the flowers don't like it either!
You must go through a lot of sunscreen in your house! Hope the water day went well!
janie
hahaha. thanks Janers, i appreciate the flower sympathies and your love of the style. i truely enjoy the randomness.
sunscreen. yees. lots. ha. Julia asked Aunt Karli at the beach, "are you wearing your sun screen?" to which K had to respond "no" and julia was very concerned and asking "why?". ha.
gotta love how logical she is. so funny. rules and boundaries just make sense and make sercurity for her. so cute.
Love the little garden Sue. it's so...so...quaint is the word that comes to mind.
Glad to see Julia enjoying summer!(I just hope there's no possiblity that some world wide web wierdo can peek at that sweet and innocent photo.) Who needs a waterpark when you've got a hose?
yeah, i was thinking that too. so weirdo's be warned!
