Another Homemade Toy

We invented a 'rice game' a few months ago...it disappeared until one day...
...when Julia found the rice shaker and asked to play it again. I thought we needed an updated version, and thus, i made the "Rice Tray". Yes, my own variation of the famous daycare "Rice table"-- perfect for all your sensory development needs! If you are conserned that your child is being held back developmentally due to a lack of small particles to scoop, pour and sweep -- worry no more! The RiceTray-o-Matic is the answer to all our problems! Now not only will our children know how to dump, stir, cook and toss - but they can do it in the comfort of your own home! Who knew this day would come??
Okay, couldn't resist the sarcasm. I just love that the rice table is pretty much the mass-produced-don't-have-to-go-outdoors-Sandbox concept of a toy. And the water table, that usually accompanies it, is the mass-produced-kid-height-take-up-more-space variation of THE SINK. or the tub. haha.

Okay, enough of that. Here is a cute picture of dear Julia finding special places to read her bible all over the house. Today --it was laying under the piano. Unfortunately she got up before i could snap the cute lay-down shot....but she is still cute here. haha.

well, i am not in labor yet, but please, if you haven't already, read the last post and fill in the contest answers in the comment section!! :)

love from sue.

Good call with the rice tray.
Our church nursery director didn't want to use water in the water table she has (but wouldn't all moms love to pick their babes up from church, soaking wet??), so she filled it with lentils which pick up so easy! I bet julia loves the rice because it is so little and fun to count and make pictures with!
Sometimes when i get corrina from nursery she is sitting right in the middle of the lentil table, playing her little heart out (and hopefuly not eating her heart out). Boy, and i am glad it's not a water table at that point!

Labour labour soon is our wish for you.

what a great idea with the rice tray. I coloured some rice for Taylor a few years back, but to glue on craft paper. I also attempted to colour noodles for him to glue also.

As for your last post.
Gender: thats a really good question. I think we need to see a new picture of you standing, so we can see where baby is sitting right now.. but without that, if I had to guess, I would say a boy.

Name: I have no idea. When it comes to names, I am lost. We are going to end up with baby no name the way things are going.

weight and labour : I am afraid to make any guesses... lets face it.. if I guess a really long labour or a large weight, you can get me back... So on that note. I will pray that your labour is something you can tolorate, and baby isn't too big to handle. Something that will not cause any problems.
I pray that everything is well. Thanks so much for the update!
Hugs from our house to yours
