above ZERO.

We have not felt air that is above zero degrees for a long, long time. So when the day broke a lovely 7 degrees and the skies were brilliant blue - WE DASHED QUICKLY OUT OF THE HOUSE.
I bundled the three kidlets. (but not nearly as bundled as the -24 degree days, or the -10 degree days...)
I warmed up the van. (but it didn't need the windows scraped or the defrost on or the usual 10-15 minutes of warming so i can see out of all the windows)
I drove to the park. (where instead of ski tracks and piles of snow as high as the cars, i could now see a parking lot FULL of cars due to the excitement of the temperature and the color of the sky!!)
I got Sam and Mercy into the stroller. (which i can use, because the pathways are mostly snow and ice free)
I let Sam walk for most of the trip. (Since the snow is mostly off the path he can actually WALK down it now!! haha)

So. that is our park story for the day.

P.S. Did i mention that Storynory.com is a really fun website with stories of all sorts? Julia has been listening to the for a few days now, while coloring through page after page of her coloring books. (which she doesn't usually do) It is a really nice quiet activity that is enjoyable for everyone (that means i really enjoy listening to the stories too!! haha).

GOODBYE!!

We're thankful you could all enjoy the sunshine being outdoors, especially at Canatara Park. Wishing we could have joined you. Have a wonderful day. Blessings to you. Hugs and kisses from Nana and Grandpa.

Yeah! It was so wonderful! Our girls were out without coats and biked and tried to fly a kite! I think I smelled spring...

I have been glad for the milder days. It's funny though, I sent the kids outside to play this afternoon and within half an hour they were begging to go back in. I was rather enjoying it out there, but I guess they have more fun when there is lots of snow on the ground. Go figure!

I hope everyone is feeling well again!

I love how wet Julia's pants are in the photos!

Winnipeg has turned into a dangerous ice rink with the warmer weather because it still freezes at night. Cars are rolling everywhere, people falling and breaking bones and heads. I kinda can't wait for the normal weather to return. Pessimistic as that sounds...

aaaaaah. no kidding janie. that sounds awful!! we will experience that in a few days when the cold weather returns... but i love the melt while it lasts. :)

it is hard to play out there, i was tidying up the yard today (because the snow melted and is showing a mess that it once hid...) and i was sinking in the mud allllll over the place!!

happy day to y'all.

Hey Sue,

If you haven't experienced warmer than Zero in that long, may I suggest investing in a furnace? Or maybe just hanging out at the store more often during the harsher months.
