We take our youth to a summer camp every year and have to cook for them.......we tend to do barbacues, chicken curry served with naan bread (rather than trying to cook rice!), pasta with a basic tomato sauce, hot dogs in buns, spaghetti bolognese.......and then for pudding, something like a slice of jamaican ginger cake or syrup sponge with custard......we normally have awful weather cammping so it keeps you warmth in you!!
Hope you're well xx

we like using our bush pie makers...put some pizza sauce/toppings in it, or grilled cheese...or pie filling for dessert!

matt's favourite is cutting up pepper, carrots, pototoes...and sausage or something like that and some spices in tin foil over the fire.

cooking is always the hard part of camping to prepare, but camp food is sooo good!

From the sounds of your last post, our two door hyundai is about as stuffed as your van! I pack lots too, cause you just never know what you will need. And food galore!
Being vegetarian now, we enjoyed black bean taco salad with lots of taco chips; Noodles and cheese with veggies mixed in (carrots, brocolli, and baby tomoatoes) Made the cheese sauce easily in a pot (milk, flour, cheese, butter). We do pancakes (I premix all the wet and dry in separate containers and dump together). I grab frozen bananas mushed in a ziplock and it works as ice the first day and goes in the pancakes the second!
We do grilled cheese and tomatoe sandwhiches, and we bring lots of cut of veggies, and easy fresh fruit. We also do hot dogs and hamburgers, and some sort of roasted veg/potatoes in tin foil as your friend mentioned. Those are some of the favs that I can think of right now!
Hope your season of camping is great! Corrina really loves hitting the great outdoors!

Everyone's got such great and unique ideas! We too like the hot dogs or smokies over the fire, and we bring up our own little bbq to do some meat too. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit. I like to have a few premade salads...they last for several meals, but they take up a lot of space in the cooler too. My favorite camping food has got to be the breakfasts, especially with Dad's awesome antique toastmaker on the campstove.

I always make an ice cream bucket of fruit salad that we eat for breakfasts and lunches over a few days. I like to marinade steak in a ziploc bag and freeze it so it acts as an ice pack and we can eat it the second day when it thaws. I've done tacos - I just pre-cook the beef and then warm it up in a frypan over the camp stove. We love our mini BBQ for cooking our meat. Ryan likes to ccok breakfast sausage on the BBQ. I cut up veggies like carrots and cucumbers at home and slice cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches, so I have minimal prep to do once we are camping. It makes for lots of work at home getting ready, but it's worth it to have less dishes and less work at the campsite.

these are great resources folks, thank you for your thoughts. We do our camp food almost exactly like half of you...
Ems, your food is the most unique by far!! :) You really eat good food while camping! wow!! :)

Sarah: you can buy the coleman toaster (like dad's ) at Can. Tire. :) it may look antique..... but... heehee. ((hug))

keep these ideas coming. i plan on making a "week long camping menu" post some day.
